When it hits the fan you call in the best. Unfortunately for planet Earth, the best were busy.

Mankind had won the Great War, but only after nearly all of humanity had been wiped out. When the dust had finally settled, a new coalition of humans and the unlikely alien rebels who had partnered with humanity and fought beside them for the survival of both their races arose, and with it, the rebuilding began.

But while Earth was still home, its residents now knew for certain there was more life out in the galaxy, some friendly, but some not. And with that knowledge came the opportunity to reach out and make first contact. Under the eye of the powerful AI systems overseeing Earth's defenses, a new AI ship was outfitted and a team was formed to venture far from home to explore. What they discovered, however, was beyond their wildest dreams... and their worst fears.
