After Sandy Kresnov foiled a plot to kill the President of Callay, things in the capital city of Tanusha are getting strange and dangerous. She's officially a part of the Callayan Security Agency now, but aside from her new best friend and fellow Agent Vanessa Rice, who there will truly trust an experimental combat android whose deadly capabilities leave all previous models in the dust?

And now comes Agent Ari Ruben and his partner -- tech whizz kids who used to be underground troublemakers, but have been recruited by the CSA because they're the only ones who can truly navigate Tanusha's dangerous and subversive high-tech subcultures of hackers, illegal tech traders and killers for hire. Ruben is onto something scary -- a plot by unhappy Federation elements to assassinate members of the Federation delegations in town to negotiate new agreements in the aftermath of the President's near-demise. He needs Sandy's help, but Sandy is wary of exactly what he's getting her into.

Ruben is pointing her like a weapon at people he might need dead, but she's tired of all the blood. And Ruben likes her in ways that for normal humans, are probably not wise. People who get too close to Sandy have a way of ending up dead...
