Frank Herbert (1920–1986) was the visionary author of Dune, one of the most influential science fiction novels ever written. Despite years of struggle, six years of research, and 23 publisher rejections, Dune became a global phenomenon, selling nearly 20 million copies and spawning a beloved series. Herbert wrote nearly 30 books, including The White Plague and The Dosadi Experiment. His wife, Beverly, was his lifelong editor and supporter. His legacy continues through his works and collaborations.
