Ursula K. Le Guin (1929–2018) was a celebrated American author recognized for bringing literary depth to science fiction and fantasy, with major works including The Left Hand of Darkness and the Earthsea series. Over a 60-year career, she published over 20 novels, 100 short stories, poetry, and children's books, winning multiple Hugo, Nebula, and National Book Awards.
