Publisher Description

It's That Time of Year, Welcome to Another S.A.G.E. Conference! The Southern Alliance of General Enchanters conferences are a great way to keep up on the latest spellwork, nab some amazing wizard-crafted items, and show off specific brands of magic.

It's not Meray's first time attending. Past conferences had xem drooling over the sauces BBQ witches conjured up, tasting way too many pies when the Sugar witches and Nut witches had a bake off, and watching silent fireworks created in tandem by light and color witches. If there's an application in which magic can be used, there's a coven for it.

Exploding Moonlight Illuminates the Shadows

As a lunar witch, and someone who prefers to stay out of the spotlight, Meray is fine setting up an informational booth in Witches' Alley. Xe's got xyr pamphlets ready, all the ingredients needed to cast xyr spell Apogee Search & Aid, and will hand the table over in the afternoon to another of xyr coven members so xe can keep xyr nocturnal schedule.

Xe wasn't expecting to share part of xyr table with Liane, a cheerful, curvaceous solar witch. And xe certainly wasn't expecting that their presentation spells would combine and explode. On the plus side, being hit with an unstable, unknown spell means xe can hear a person's first couple of thoughts, and now xe knows for certain that Liane would like to have a dinner date. And that boisterous, sensual Grady (selling chocolate in the cantina) is looking for a fun time.

Where Secrets Can Pull You Apart

Meray also knows that one of the conference witches ships xem and Liane (kind of a weird thing to think about about real people, to be honest), a vendor in the cantina loathes his job, and the witch needing to file the accident report is looking for more spells she can patent under her name. It's going to take luck, hard work, and serendipity to make it out of this mess while not scaring away either Liane or Grady (and keeping this dangerous new spell a secret).

Good thing lunar witches are used to reaching for the moon!
