Born and raised in the granite state of New Hampshire, Troy, proud dad of two daughters, is a lifelong and avid reader of comic books and novels (mostly in the fantasy, sci-fi and adventure/thriller genres) and self-professed geek collecting action figures and building LEGO. He enjoys creating adventures that entertain and hopes to see his works appear in all forms of media. Don’t expect to bother him during football season, especially when the Patriots are playing. Troy still lives in New Hampshire.

10 Questions with Troy Osgood
1

For those unfamiliar with your style & genre, how would you describe your writing?

I write primarily litRPG. I write (and read) for entertainment, so I try to make fun and engaging adventure stories with characters that you can get invested in. Characters that you want to see succeed.

2

Where did you grow up and did this location influence your writing in any way?

New Hampshire. Not really. The Connected System takes place in Northwood but that's about it. Where I grew up hasn't really been an influence.

3

What kind of reader were you as a child?

I read a lot. Fantasy, some sci-fi, and comic books. I always had a book I was reading and read a ton of comic books.

4

If you could write like any other author, who would it be and why?

That's a hard one. I don't think there is one. I can't think of an author whose exact style I'd like to write as.

5

Who are your top 5 favorite authors?

Michael J Sullivan, Shirtaloon, Sean Oswald ... This is hard, easier to list favorite books!

6

What is one book you repeatedly gift?

I don't think I've ever gifted a book to multiple people. I tend to focus on their genre and what they like to read versus giving them something I like to read.

7

Of all the characters you've penned, who has been most influenced by your personal story?

The Brady family in The Connected System are loosely based on myself, my wife and my two daughters. But for the most part, my characters aren't influenced by me. I didn't grow up in the same worlds they did, so their experiences are different from mine.

8

What is your favorite book that you've written?

The latest. I try to improve with each book, so the latest and what I hope to be my best book, so that ends up being my favorite.

9

Describe your writing space.

Nothing special. Just the desk in my home office. Got some art up on the walls, LEGO on the shelves. Prints of the covers to Dragons Of Autumn Twilight, Crystal Shard and Spellfire. Some Patriots pictures. Lots of comic artwork.

10

And finally, what's your ideal reading nook?

I don't think I have an ideal nook. I can read almost anywhere. There's no specific place I try to go to, or atmosphere I try to create.
