There. Isn't that better? Huh, okay. You look skeptical. I get that. And this is weird - us talking like this. Not what you're used to, I'm sure. No flashy, bolded text. No generic, empty quotes from strangers praising the story.

But how often do you get to talk directly to the Main Character, hmm?

Alright, now you looked confused. Different but not better. Maybe I should start by introducing myself.

My name is Nyx. An empty vessel from a world of spirits called the Five Rivers. Normally, that's a death sentence, yet somehow I survived. What can I say? I've always been stubborn. Or, at least, that's what other people tell me. Usually while using many other hurtful words. Insane. Paranoid. Crazy, even.

Which isn't my fault! The Five Rivers is experiencing a mental health epidemic. Probably because living here is a relentless nightmare.

Although, to the credit of my many, many critics, in another life I may have, uh... done something reckless. I sent myself a message - my memories. Threw them into the Flow from which all spirits return.

After all, I've always believed in asking hard questions. Like, is reincarnation real? Will this half-ass plan actually work? And if it does, can my life really get any worse?
