A Norse princess consumed by a violent legacy crosses kingdoms in pursuit of a cursed blade that demands bloodshed.

After a summer of raiding, we row into Holmgard to sell our slaves and loot. I’ve been warned not to speak about my lineage. The Rus haven’t forgotten my father—and just mentioning his name could get everybody killed.

Of course, that warning never reached the rest of the crew. We’re not in the city a full day before I’m dragged before Queen Sifka. Another reminder that the whole world seems determined to keep me away from what I want most.

Tyrfing. I can feel it. Calling from across the waves. From my father’s tomb. Beckoning me to claim it.

Nothing will stop me. Not the Rus. Not a giant-blooded prince. Not a monster worshipped as a god. I will take what is mine.
