Robert A. Heinlein (1907-1988) was a prolific American writer considered to be one of the most influential science fiction authors of the 20th century. A former naval officer and engineer, Heinlein brought scientific rigor and philosophical depth to the genre, helping to elevate it to mainstream literary status. His works explore themes of individualism, personal liberty, and social responsibility. Known for his provocative ideas and complex characters, Heinlein challenged readers to think critically about politics, ethics, and the future of humanity.  A four-time Hugo Award winner and a Grand Master of Science Fiction, with a career spanning five decades, Heinlein’s impact on speculative fiction is enduring, earning him a place among the genre's “Big Three,” alongside Arthur C. Clarke and Isaac Asimov.
