The dragons stir within the stone statues that have imprisoned them for over a century. Unbeknownst to humankind, they gathered power to begin the process of freeing themselves and placed that power in Dephithus, the beloved future heir to the throne of Imperious.

The followers of the daenox—a dark power that was also locked away—have discovered the dragons' plans. On his sixteenth birthday, they will give Dephithus a vile gift of their own. One meant to turn the power within him toward freeing the daenox instead. A gift that will change his world forever.
