After the trauma of the last few months, Veyl is determined to play a part in resolving the rising conflict that threatens Vanris and the people she loves. Together with her friends, she has joined a military unit and is putting herself on the front lines in political negotiations as well.

Her love life remains tumultuous as outside influences and her own mistakes put a strain on her relationship. With the possibility of war hanging over them, ensuring any kind of peaceful future, let alone one in which they can be together, is starting to look impossible.

A growing number of people from different cultures are treating her as though she is something special, and now she is developing abilities she shouldn't have that are only making her life more confusing. When her enemies strike out, she must master the chaos spiraling around her, or risk losing everything.
