In disguise, Rossi works to save her friend from the witch trials on her own since relying on her magical counterpart, Drag, is no longer an option. His behavior has become more erratic, and when Rossi looks at him, she no longer sees the bright-eyed boy who'd kissed her and made her laugh.

Feeling helpless without her companion one stone, Rossi soon discovers Ainsley has been a dozen steps ahead of her since before she was born. The more she tries to tear down what Ainsley has put in place, the deeper in trouble she gets.

However, she's made some new friends and conjured up some monsters of her own. Plus she still has the one thing Ainsley doesn't: control over time and space. But will it be enough to get rid of her for good?
