What stories will be told when a new god appears?

With the Dread still pressing the attack, Sophie and Lan must defend against his minions. After surviving yet another attack, Lan decides he can no longer wait to see what else the Dread might do. He needs to understand his power—the same power the Dread connects to. But when the answers are tied to a dangerous entity known only as the Emerald Exile, Lan fears what he might find.

Sophie serves a new role in the realm, but it's a role that lacks the same excitement she's grown accustomed to finding. A discovery about the Karell leads to new questions, and a greater understanding of the power of the god stones. Sophie needs to uncover the truth of those stones, which would be easier if Lan hadn't gone missing again.
