Jonathan Ellis is the CEO and principal shareholder of Ellis Tech. Tall, young, good looking and rich, Jonathan is the poster boy for the term "Chick Magnet." He is also a womanizing sociopath and corrupt to his core. He obtained control of what he renamed Ellis Tech when his partners all died in a mysterious plane crash. A plane crash Jonathan likely arranged.

The company continued to do well. Jonathan had enough sense to steal several top-notch engineers from other companies. Eventually Ellis Tech caught the eye of a South Korean company that was making an effort to obtain Ellis Tech. Jonathan, still plenty young enough to enjoy great wealth, was very interested. Except, unknown to Jonathan was the fact that the buyer was a front for the CIA and South Korean Intelligence. Enter Chinese spies, a retired CIA agent working both sides and a former director of the CIA.

Jonathan is also playing fraudulent games with the company's stock, using product rumors to drive the stock price up and down. While doing this, knowing prison was looming, Jonathan stashed away tens of millions of "get away" dollars.

Just when things were starting to come together to make Jonathan Ellis not just rich but wealthy, his executive assistant arrives at work and finds him sprawled out on the floor in his office with eight bullet holes in him. The gun left behind quickly led to the one and only suspect, Suzanne Pfieffer, corporate counsel of Ellis Tech and current client of Marc Kadella.
