Dan Zangari, born in 1960 and raised as an only child in the Mojave Desert, developed a deep love for fantasy and science fiction from an early age. He earned a Bachelor's in Aerospace Engineering from USC in 1982 and a Master’s in Systems Management in 1984 while serving as an officer in the U.S. Air Force, where he met his wife and welcomed his son in 1986. After relocating to Utah, he began drafting Chronicles of Lorn, a trilogy set in the world of Varland, though increased responsibilities delayed its publication. In 2011, his son, Robert Zangari, helped expand the original story into Tales of the Amulet, a nine-part epic. His published works include A Prince’s Errand, The Dark Necromancer, Elven Secrets, The Mages' Agenda, Treachery in the Kingdom, and The Red Ruby, along with short stories such as A Thief’s Way and The Last Barsionist.
