Summer Camp Horror Books for Slasher Summer

Rose lives with her parents in the small, religious town or Neverton, Montana. The tight-knit community only wants to help people. Nestled in the mountains above their town is Camp Damascus. It’s the most effective gay conversion camp in the country. They promise to help free your child from sin, highlighting their own way of life as proof of how it’s possible to live a pure and moral life. The only problem is that whatever happens to create that success has nothing to do with God. In fact, it just might take you straight to Hell.

When Mars’ twin, Caroline, dies under horrific circumstances, he decides he’ll do whatever it takes to figure out what really happened. That means going back to Aspen Conservatory Summer Academy, the one place he swore he’d never return.

The bucolic camp never charmed Mars. Not with their gender roles and toxic rigidity. But that’s where Caroline spent so much of her time, which means that’s where he’ll find answers. He seeks out her friends, a group of beautiful and terrifying girls known as the Honeys. Only, the longer Mars stays at the camp, the more questions he has. Worse, he’s pretty sure something is hunting him. And if he can’t escape, he just might end up dying just like his sister.

After sitcom star Willow gets cancelled over some tweets, she goes to Camp Castaway, an anonymous summer camp for adults who want to escape their lives. It’s kind of the perfect solution. No real names. No phones. No internet. No one will know who she is or what she did. Which is fine with Willow. And at first, everything is surprisingly okay. Until a terrifying woman breaks into her cabin and one of the campers vanishes. And then another. It quickly becomes obvious that someone is hunting them.

On the run, desperate for answers, Willow and her new friends realize that to figure out who wants their heads, they’re going to have to face the terrible truths they’re running from. It’s the last thing Willow wants to do. But if she can’t, she just might end up cancelled permanently.

And when another attack massacres everyone except a single teen, he knows he’s right. But Mary doesn’t think the killer is human. She thinks it’s a rural legend known as the Hungry Hare. The sheriff wants to put a killer behind bars. Mary wants revenge. And Tom wants the truth. None of them realize that the murderer is close. Much closer than any of them dream.

Evil runs in Temple Baker’s blood. Her father was a serial killer, convicted of murdering twenty people and marking each body with a brand. Posing as a camp counselor, Temple tries her best to fit in and search for her mother in her spare time. Until one of the girls is murdered. Is this one of her father’s “fans” mimicking his crimes? Or is there something far more sinister lurking in the woods?

After finding himself on the wrong side of the law, a judge sentences Ben to a remote reform program in northwestern Montana. Right away, Ben feels like something is off. The counselors are friendly and upbeat, but beneath the surface, there’s something menacing lurking. The other boys feel it too.

As Ben gets to know them, he realizes they all have specific skills that might help them untangle the truth behind the camp. But the closer they get, the more danger they find themselves in. Because the evil hiding underneath the camp will do whatever it takes to stay buried.
