Waubgeshig Rice is an author and journalist living in Sudbury, Ontario. Of Anishinaabe and Canadian descent, he grew up in his father’s home community of Wasauksing First Nation on Georgian Bay, experiences that deeply shape his storytelling. After nearly two decades working as a journalist, largely with CBC, he now focuses primarily on literature. His fiction explores Anishinaabe history and contemporary life with respect, care, and humility. He and his wife are raising their three sons grounded in Anishinaabe values passed down through family and community.
