Vivian Shaw is the author of the Dr. Greta Helsing fantasy series, beginning with Strange Practice, as well as the sci-fi horror novella The Helios Syndrome. Her fiction explores monsters, medicine, machines, and found family, and her short work has appeared in Uncanny and Pseudopod. Born in Kenya and raised in Britain, she now lives in Santa Fe with her wife, author Arkady Martine.
