Ruth Ozeki is a novelist, filmmaker, and Zen Buddhist priest whose work is known for blending big ideas with inventive, emotionally resonant storytelling. Her fiction often weaves together science, technology, religion, environmental questions, and contemporary culture in unexpected ways. She is especially notable for A Tale for the Time Being, which was shortlisted for the Booker Prize, and The Book of Form and Emptiness, winner of the Women’s Prize for Fiction. She divides her time between Western Massachusetts, New York City, and British Columbia, Canada.
