Emma Mackenzie has spent every night since The Incident reliving the same five seconds. The shouting. The badge. The split-second decision she'll never undo. But Seagrove has its own ideas about strangers. Within a week, Emma has been pulled into Sunday dinners at the Inn, talked into Spring Festival preparations, and quietly adopted by half the town. And just as she's letting herself believe she might actually heal here, someone she didn't tell where she was going shows up at her door.

Across the island, Dixie is hosting the book signing of a lifetime, and the famous author at the center of it has a secret of her own. Julie is working on something she hasn't told anyone about. SuAnn is still convinced last year's pie contest was rigged. And the whole town is gearing up for a Spring Festival nobody on Seagrove Island is going to forget.
