Born in Amman, Jordan, Rabih Alameddine grew up in Lebanon and Kuwait, lived in England, then moved to the US. He earned a degree in engineering from UCLA and an MBA in San Francisco before becoming a painter and novelist. He has won the PEN/Faulkner Award for Fiction and was a Finalist for the National Book Award. He received the Dos Passos Prize in 2019 and a Lannan Literary Award for Fiction in 2021. He divides his time between Beirut and San Francisco.
