Oliver Pötzsch is a German author best known for The Hangman’s Daughter series, inspired by his descent from a long line of Bavarian hangmen. Born in Munich, he worked in journalism for radio and television before turning to fiction full time. His novels draw heavily on history, blending vivid storytelling with the dark, fascinating legacy of his ancestors. With millions of copies sold worldwide and translations in more than twenty languages, he has become a widely read voice in historical fiction. He lives in Munich, Germany.
