Martin Owton was born in Southampton in 1958 and grew up on the edge of the New Forest. He studied Natural Sciences at Cambridge and earned a PhD in synthetic chemistry from Southampton University. After postdoctoral research in London, he settled in Surrey, where he works in pharmaceutical research.
Writing seriously since 1995, he has published over 20 short stories and now focuses primarily on novels. He enjoys cricket, pub quizzes, and supporting Southampton FC.
