Margaret Verble is an enrolled citizen of the Cherokee Nation and the Pulitzer Prize–finalist author of Maud’s Line. Her novel Cherokee America was named one of the New York Times’ 100 Notable Books of the Year and won the Spur Award for Best Western, while When Two Feathers Fell from the Sky was selected as one of Booklist’s Best Novels of 2021. Raised in Nashville and now living in Lexington, Kentucky, she writes stories rooted in Cherokee history and her family’s long ties to Oklahoma.
