Malala Yousafzai is a Pakistani education activist who became a global symbol of courage after surviving an assassination attempt by the Taliban at age fifteen for speaking out in support of girls' right to go to school. Born in 1997 in the Swat Valley, she began blogging about life under Taliban rule and advocating for education at a young age. Her activism earned international attention, and in 2014 she became the youngest-ever Nobel Peace Prize laureate. Malala continues her work through the Malala Fund, championing access to education for girls worldwide.
