Long buried secrets threaten to upset life in the town of White Rock. When Sergeant Jody Harris finds her landlord, Garvin McDaniels, dead things get sticky. Especially when evidence is found linking her to the murder. Not only that but someone claims Jo was angry that Garvin wasn't going to sell her the property she currently lives in.

As evidence mounts against her, Jo is relieved of duty. Thankfully Chief Sam Mason and Lucy are still on the case. Sam believes in her innocence and Jo is confident he will do what it takes to clear her name. Not to mention, she isn't going to sit at home, she's doing her own investigating on the side.

When the case takes a strange turn linking Jo's property to a decades old murder things start looking up for Jo. Now she knows why someone is trying to frame her, but what she doesn't know is who that person is.

Meanwhile, Kevin and Bridget are running their own stealth investigation and reveal a tangled thread of corruption between Convale and town officials that even Sam Mason and K-9 Lucy might not be able to unravel.
