Victory was supposed to mean peace. After defeating the Archon and returning from certain death, Jack Schafer should finally be able to rest beside the woman he loves. Instead, he discovers a cruel bargain already in motion. An ancient machine intelligence is consuming Dr. Manheim from the inside, and the only way to save him may be to restore a weapon capable of erasing entire civilizations.
