What lost secrets lay hidden beneath the sands?

Euddán and Vounée are joined by their former hunter. Tshar Ruan has betrayed the Apostasy, unable to stomach their means of saving the dragons. She wants to find a new way. But not everyone trusts Ruan.

Dhaua and Thaaph, the living shrubs, remember all too well how Ruan fought with the Apostasy and conquered their home.

But Vounée has fallen in love with Ruan, and is eager to have her presence on the journey. Their former enemy might be their only chance as they continue their journey East across the world. Guided by Vounée's vision, they need to reach the vast desert known simply as the Sands.

Buried in the lost ruins of Ashounz is another piece of Lumi, their glowing companion. To free Vounée from the shadow of the dragon in her, Lumi must be restored. But it's a long journey across wild plains and war-torn nations.

And the Apostasy has not forgotten about them. Lady Shadow might have perished, but her sister, Lady Inferno, now takes up the hunt.

What will Euddán and his friends find in the desert? Salvation or loss?
