Guilt of Sacrifice

Is there a cost too high to save the world? Tshar Ruan used to believe that any amount of pain and suffering could be justified to free the souls of the dead dragons and free the world from the yoke of the false gods. But hunting Vounee and Euddan for weeks has weakened her resolve. It's so easy to say that any cost can be paid when you're not the one sacrificing the innocent.

As the hunt continues for Euddan and Vounee, Ruan finds herself once more in the company of the dread dragon Lady Shadow. Along with a droop of drakeknights, lizard men wielding powerful magical weapons, she plunges into the Hordelands. Will she hold true to her purpose, or will the guilt destroy her?

Euddan and Vounee need to cross those same plains with their new companions. Dhaua and Thaaph, the living plants, have doubts if Euddan can win them passage with the honorable but savage Hordemen. But plucky Zai, gifted with glimpses of the future, has no doubts in her hero's prowess.

Everything rests on Euddan. Can the young man win the support of the Hordeman and survive the vicious hunters marauding across the plains searching for him and his friends?
