Is he truly the biggest threat to her people?

After the Marong men die in the war, Lorelei and the last surviving members of her 7 woman clan find safety on an island guarded by the warrior mermen...or so it seems.

The good human king who hid them there seems sympathetic to their plight, and Lorelei knows that they do need protection from the powerful men from surrounding lands, especially the War Raven.

All those men want is to claim them, willing or not, in the hopes that the dormant Marong powers will awaken in a male heir.

And the War Raven is the worst and the most powerful of them all, conquering one land after another.

However, something seems off.

Lonely and depressed on the island that increasingly feels like a prison, Lorelei begins to realize that things are not what they seem to be.

No longer certain whom to trust, or even whom to love, she knows one thing: she has to find a way to free herself and her people.

Whatever it takes.

And in the web of treachery she finds herself in, one man might turn out to be the biggest surprise of all: the War Raven, her worst enemy.

Or maybe, just maybe, something else completely.
