Jane K. Cleland is the Agatha Award–winning author of Mastering Suspense, Structure & Plot and Mastering Plot Twists, as well as fourteen novels in the Josie Prescott Antiques Mystery series, which has been optioned for film and TV. Her newest craft book, Beat the Bots, was released in 2025. Cleland teaches full-time at Lehman College, contributes to Writer’s Digest, chairs the Black Orchid Novella Award, and serves as vice president of Mystery Writers of America’s Florida chapter. She is a frequent speaker at writing conferences and MFA residencies.
