Jane Austen (1775–1817) was an English novelist renowned for her keen social observation, sharp wit, and timeless storytelling. Born in Steventon, Hampshire, she was the seventh of eight children in a close-knit family. Austen's novels, including Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility, and Emma, explore themes of love, marriage, and class with a blend of irony and insight. Despite her works' enduring popularity, she published anonymously during her lifetime, with her books credited simply to "A Lady." Austen's legacy lies in her ability to portray universal human experiences with humor, intelligence, and a deep understanding of social dynamics.
