Garth is getting really tired of prophecies, thanks for asking. He's been handed a new task to find and retrieve the Chahiran magicians, all while watching over Trev"nor, who is also a child of prophecy and somehow pivotal to the future. On top of that, he's been given a second task by the Gardeners–the ancient beings in charge of the planet's well being–to bring Balance to the world.

Finding new magicians in a country out to kill you is like a very extreme version of tag. Garth's relatively sure he can fight his way out if he needs to but the Star Order–a group wholly against magic (ironic as they use blood magic)–are tough opponents and seemingly everywhere. It's hard to dodge them when his own group is severely outnumbered.

As for bringing Balance to the world? What exactly does that mean and how does one go about doing it?
