Clarice Lispector (1925-1977) is renowned as one of Brazil's most innovative literary figures and a significant voice in twentieth-century fiction. Born in Ukraine and emigrating to Brazil at a young age, she was influenced by both Brazilian classics and modern European writers. Her writing explored self-identity and human suffering, often through the perspectives of middle-class women.
