A London bookstore owner tries to matchmake her customers using the books they buy in the latest from Clare Pooley, the beloved bestselling author who knows exactly what people want to read right now.

Jude spends her days running The First Chapter Bookshop with her loyal pooch Heathcliff at her side. The finances of owning a bookshop are challenging to say the least, but Jude believes that only the best people visit stores like hers, and that makes even the difficult days worthwhile.

Another closely-held belief of Jude's is that the books her customers buy reveal quite a lot about them. So she creates a display of carefully selected Books of Possibility, meant to match up customers who choose the same title—and, she hopes, offer them the social connection they're craving. Before long, her books have brought friends and lovers together, healed wounds and inspired new adventures.

But good taste in reading material isn't everything, and Jude soon finds that creating a true sense of community may require her to open up about things she'd rather keep hidden. Because Jude's customers are not always what they seem, and neither is Jude herself.
