Charles Stross is a British author of science fiction and fantasy, celebrated for his inventive blending of hard science fiction, space opera, and darkly satirical speculative fiction. He is best known for the Merchant Princes series and the Laundry Files novels, alongside stand-alone works such as Glasshouse, Accelerando, and Saturn’s Children. Over his career, Stross has won multiple Hugo Awards, including one for the novella Equoid. Born in Leeds, England, he has also written extensively about technology and open-source software, contributing for years to Computer Shopper magazine. He now lives in Edinburgh, Scotland, with his spouse.
