Catherine Chidgey

Catherine Chidgey is an internationally acclaimed novelist whose debut, In a Fishbone Church, won major awards in New Zealand, the Commonwealth, and the UK. Her novels have been recognized by The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, and the Women’s Prize for Fiction. The Wish Child and The Axeman’s Carnival both won New Zealand’s Acorn Prize for Fiction. She lives in Ngāruawāhia and lectures in creative writing at the University of Waikato.
