Storms of Fate

Detective Beth Fahey, the newest security officer for the paranormal Arcana, has her work cut out for her in this tense, treacherous dark fantasy from the New York Times bestselling author of the Others series.

Beth Fahey has only just begun to adjust to her new role as a security officer on the Isle of Wyrd, across the river from the human world. But when a busload of living ghosts arrives bearing an inexplicable message from Beth’s grandmother, Beth realizes that her fate—and the fate of her family—has been tangled with Wyrd for much longer than she realized.

Meanwhile, given an ultimatum by her prejudiced boss, Joann Baxter finds herself purchasing a mysterious weight-loss drug in order to keep her job. That decision resonates through the uncanny, opening possibilities Joann didn’t know existed—and bringing her to the attention of the Arcana.

But this otherworldly “wonder drug” is lethal if mishandled, and anyone who takes it improperly could be at risk. By the time the Arcana recognize the danger, Beth has accidentally received a potentially fatal dose. To save her, Wyrd’s leader, Lucas Frost, must seek help from the most powerful, and deadliest, Sorcerer King of them all: his father, Ares de Winter.
