Alison Weir is a bestselling author of historical fiction and popular history, known for bringing the past to life with rich detail and rigorous research. A Londoner by birth, she began writing at an early age and published her first book, Britain’s Royal Families, in 1989. Her work spans both fiction and nonfiction, with a focus on British royalty, particularly the Tudors. A trained historian and former teacher, she has published extensively and been translated worldwide. She is a Patron of multiple historical organizations and lives in Surrey, where she continues to write full-time.
